Overview

Water Corporation appointed the strategic alliance of Black & Veatch and Theiss to deliver the Metropolitan Wastewater Treatment Upgrade Program. The program was completed ahead of schedule and provided engineering, procurement and construction management services for the modification and upgrading of the Beenyup and Woodman Point wastewater treatment plants. In addition, feasibility and planning studies were carried out for the Subiaco plant.

The alliance was appointed for a five-year program, but the bulk of the predominantly brown-field work was completed in four years. The overall value of the capital program was in excess of AUD$350million. Black & Veatch provided a multi-disciplined team, including principle engineering, procurement, project controls, construction and commissioning resources.

Results

Water Corporation received the upgraded plants ahead of schedule. The client received 14 separate program TOCs (target out-turn costs), which were managed by an overarching program management team.
