Big Rivers Electric Corporation (BREC)
This project involved planning and managing the transition of 450 employees and nine power plants. We also completed the IT outsourcing review and selection for the new BREC.
Southwest Generation needed to transition assets into an independent company with internal capabilities. Outcomes included successfully completing the transition of 87 employees to the new entity on time and budget, recognizing and mitigating risks, and creating a scalable platform for future potential acquisitions.
Intermountain Power Project (IPP)
The Intermountain Power Project needed a green house gas (GHG) reduction feasibility study to evaluate ways to either reduce or capture CO2 emissions. When finished, we successfully identified viable projects available to reduce the GHG footprint and determined that significant reductions of CO2 require carbon capture and sequestration.
Associated Electric Cooperatives
Associated Electric Cooperatives was looking for an assessment of the base load units at New Madrid and Thomas Hill. In our solution, we identified viable projects available to improve EFOR, ranked the projects by potential value to the company based on the improved capabilities of the generating unit and the cost to implement, and provided a plan for outage inspections to reduce the duration and frequency of planned outages.
Alcoa Warrick Generating Station
Given the age of Alcoa’s facility, increasing fuel costs, increasing power costs and increasing emissions compliance complexity, the plant staff was consistently operating in a reactive mode. Our solution helped Alcoa realize significant savings and improvements in unit operation.

Morris Forman Thermal Drying Facility
The substantial cost savings achieved during operations at this municipal sludge processing facility helped this project receive the National Design-Build Award in 2004 by Design-Build Institute of America.
Anglian Water Biosolids Program
Our role, which continues to this day, is the management and operations of these biosolids facilities. This project is an alliance with Anglian Water and included operations staff training. The alliance shares in any operational optimization gains after investment capital has been recovered by Anglian Water. Benchmarks for operations are monitored on a monthly basis by the alliance.
Ringsend Wastewater Treatment Plant
This treatment plant was a Design-Build-Operate (DBO) project with a whole-life value of $250mm now serves a population equivalent of 1.7 million. It is the largest wastewater treatment contract in the history of the Irish state and the first to be awarded on a DBO basis.
Capital Project Management Program
Slated to be complete in 2013, this large metro wastewater system required operational support to meet more restrictive discharge permit standards while the existing treatment facility is undergoing major renovation.
Fritz Island Waste Water Treatment Plant
This plant had been receiving violations of varying types and had not met their NPDES permit requirements for five years. During our on-site management and operations support period, the plant met its permit requirements and was put on a program for full rehabilitation.
Detroit Water Works Park II
This new water treatment plant uses ozonation technology and a filtration system. It is controlled by a state-of-the-art automation system, which provides control/operation redundancy to ensure continuous water production.
